Flooring Installation Services

Flooring ties a remodel together — and in kitchens and bathrooms it has to survive water, traffic and daily cleaning without complaining. Our flooring service covers product selection, subfloor preparation and installation for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and adjoining living spaces, as part of a full remodel or as a focused flooring project.

Materials We Install

Porcelain and ceramic tile remain the benchmark for bathrooms and busy kitchens: waterproof, durable and available in every look from concrete to marble to wood planks. Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) has become the most requested kitchen floor in our projects — waterproof, warm underfoot, forgiving of dropped dishes and fast to install. Engineered hardwood brings real wood character to kitchens where full solid hardwood would be risky around water. Laminate offers a budget-friendly wood look for lower-moisture areas. We will steer you straight on where each material belongs — and where it does not — based on your household, pets and the rooms involved.

Subfloor Prep Is the Real Job

Most flooring failures are preparation failures. We check the subfloor for level, deflection and moisture before anything is installed; tile in particular demands a stiff, flat base and the right underlayment or uncoupling membrane to prevent cracked grout lines a year later. In bathrooms, waterproofing details at the floor tie into the shower system (see our bathroom remodeling page). If your existing floor has squeaks, soft spots or water damage, we repair the cause during prep rather than covering it up.

Installation and Finishing Details

Layout is planned before the first plank or tile is set: pattern direction, transition points between rooms, and how the floor meets cabinets, tubs and thresholds. We undercut door jambs for a clean fit, set transitions that do not become toe-stubbers, and finish with baseboards or shoe molding matched to your trim. Heated floor systems can be added under tile in bathrooms during a remodel — a consultation is the time to ask, because the heating mat goes in during prep.

Flooring Throughout the Home

Many clients extend the kitchen floor into the dining and living areas for a continuous look. Because Mars Construction Industries is a full-service general contractor, we can handle the trim, door and stair details that whole-home flooring involves, and sequence the work room by room so your household keeps functioning during the project.

Care and Longevity

Every installation ends with a care walkthrough specific to your material: which cleaners are safe on tile grout and natural stone sealers, why steam mops and some waterproof planks do not mix, felt pads under furniture legs, and how to handle the inevitable spill or dropped pan without panic. Quality flooring installed over a properly prepared subfloor should serve for decades, and we will also leave you with the product details — brand, line and color — recorded on your project paperwork so a future repair or an added room can match exactly instead of approximately.
